Maintenance of the electric drum handler motor:
Inspection and maintenance should be carried out with the power off;
Check that the motor outlet connections are correct;
Measure the cold insulation resistance of the motor every three months using a 250V megohmmeter. The resistance should be greater than 0.5 MΩ. If it is less than 0.5 MΩ, drying is required;
Check brush wear every three months;
Check that the commutator is clean and that the brushes slide freely in the brush boxes;
Check that all fasteners are tight;
It is recommended to perform a complete maintenance on the electric stacker motor once a year.
Care of the electric drum handler motor battery:
The battery should be fully charged before being put into use. Using an under‑charged battery will shorten its service life;
Avoid overcharging and over‑discharging the battery. Overcharging and over‑discharging severely affect battery performance and lifespan;
Keep the battery liquid‑filler caps and gas vents clean. Remove or open them during charging, and replace or close them after charging. Keep the battery surface, connecting wires, and screws clean and dry;
After charging, check the battery electrolyte level and promptly add distilled water to maintain the level;
Recharge the battery promptly after use. The storage time of an electric drum handler battery generally should not exceed 24 hours;
Maintain good ventilation while charging.
